ChemConnect acquires CheMatch. (The 'Net Works).
ChemConnect, a former San Francisco-based online provider of
chemicals and plastics, has acquired CheMatch, an internet exchange See IXP and NAP. for
bulk commodity chemicals, polymers, feedstocks and fuel products. The
companies together recorded more than $4 billion in transactions in

will serve as chief executive officer of the
combined company. The new company, ChemConnect, will move headquarters

The acquisition will be completed

as the exchange floor, online auctions and futures exchange Futures Exchange
Traditionally, a term referring to a central marketplace where futures contracts and options on futures contracts are traded. More recently, with the growth in electronic trading, it is also used to describe the activity of futures trading itself. .
