In his role as Group Vice President at BP, Mr. Robinson was a member of the executive committee of BP's chemicals businesses responsible for a portfolio operating on four continents, with combined revenues of over $4 billion. At the time of the BP and Amoco merger, Mr. Robinson was charged with overseeing the successful integration of the chemicals' divisions of both companies, and driving the combined new unit to deliver targeted synergies. Following the successful integration, Robinson led all of BP's digital business activities of the chemicals stream, including e-procurement, in addition to his business portfolio duties.

Previously, Mr. Robinson was Vice president, Catalysts and Technology at Sohio Chemical, which was acquired by BP. In his 33 years in the chemical industry, Mr. Robinson also worked for Shell Chemical, Akzo Chemical, and Gulf Oil Chemicals (now Chevron Chemicals).
