Chelsea deny Kaka move.

CHELSEA have dismissed reports that they have tabled a world transfer record offer of pounds 73.5million for AC Milan's Brazilian superstar Kaka.

Chelsea, who have just appointed former AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti as their new manager, insisted: "We have never made an offer to AC Milan for Kaka and therefore not one at this extraordinary level.

"As a consequence we have not discussed a salary with the player either. Any reports to the contrary are totally u nt r ue." Speculation has been mounting that the Brazil playmaker is set to swap the San Siro for the Bernabeu following Florentino Perez's return as Real Madrid president.

Reports claim a deal has been agreed between the clubs, with Milan netting a fee of 65 million euros (pounds 56million) and Kaka putting pen to paper on a five-year deal worth nine million euros (pounds 8million) a season.

Kaka is currently with the Brazil squad preparing for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers and the Confederations Cup, and the national team insist he will not be released for any official presentation until after the tournament in South Africa.

"He has asked me to put aside this story until something is made official," said Brazil spokesman Rodrigo Paiva.

"Kaka is still a Milan player even if the Spanish press want to photograph him in a Real shirt.

"Several journalists have called me to ask if he could go to Spain for a photocall in a Madrid shirt and then come back. We have two very important games and now we must only think of these.

"Will Kaka be presented before the Confederations Cup? No, Kaka remains with us. He will be free after South Africa." Brazil play Uruguay on June 6 and Paraguay four days later in World Cup qualifiers, before heading to South Africa for the Confederations Cup that starts on June 14..
