Cheil Jedang GLS Successfully Deploys Descartes Visibility For CAS Corporation; Korean Electronics Manufacturer to Reduce Logistics Costs.

The Descartes Systems Group Inc., (Nasdaq:DSGX), (TSE:DSG), a trusted provider of logistics solutions, announced today that third-party logistics provider Cheil Jedang Global Logistics Service (CJ GLS) has successfully deployed the Descartes Global Visibility and Inventory Control solution for CAS Corporation (CAS), a leading global supplier of electronic scales based in Korea. The Descartes led implementation team successfully completed the visibility project within four months to deliver a fully operational solution to CAS.

A third-party logistics provider and a division of Cheil Jedang, the largest consumer goods company in Korea, CJ GLS specializes in logistics services for domestic companies and multinationals in the high tech, consumer goods and chemical industries. In August 2001, CJ GLS selected the Descartes solution to improve the value of its services with the objective of increasing the use of its logistics services by Cheil Jedang's large and diverse customer base.

Today, CJ GLS is connected to the Descartes Global Logistics Services Network(TM), which acts as its logistics information line between its customers and carriers. Using Descartes Global Visibility and Inventory Control solutions, the Company can access real-time logistics information from the Descartes network to proactively monitor and manage its customers' supply chains.

CJ GLS recently launched the Descartes solution for CAS, one of the largest manufacturers of electronic scales in the world. Using Descartes technology, Cheil Jedang gained visibility into the movement of all of CAS' exports from Korea to the United States. This capability is helping them reduce inventory levels across their supply chain, which will enable them to rationalize and optimize CAS distribution centers in the United States and reduce logistics costs.
