* Cheetahs are lovely creatures, and famously fleet of foot. They are not always fleet enough to escape poachers, however, so that the cheetah is now an endangered species. Well, a restaurateur in the provincial city of Gode, in eastern Ethiopia, acquired a pair of cheetah cubs from local poachers and set them to fighting each other for the entertainment of his patrons. Plainly there is not much to do of an evening in backcountry Ethiopia. Fortunately the cubs were spotted (so to speak) by soldiers of the U.S. counterterrorism coun·ter·ter·ror
