Cheesy goings on.

As part of a re-packaging operation for its grated cheese packs, a major cheese processor has installed a purpose designed AL200S Top/Bottom Self-Adhesive Labeller, capable of wrapping the bottom label round three sides of the clear, plastic container while also applying the main lid label into the lid recess.

With a line speed of 70 packs per minute the 200g clear containers are initially evenly spaced by the in-feed separation. As they pass beneath the top ALI20S label head the snap on lid is dispensed into the recess. The label head is fitted with a thermal printer for the simultaneous printing of the Best Before date onto the lid label.

Whilst the pack is positively held, the large shaped bottom label is dispensed by the AL200S label head and synchronised air cylinders draw the label wings up the vertical sides giving a positive consistent contact.

The AL200S label head is fitted with a combination label detect p e cell and micro switch enabling either clear or paper labels to be applied.

Both labels can be programmed with up to 25 label/pack settings for quick product changeover. Down time is further reduced by the controls having a 'Lock Out' so settings cannot be changed. To help with the set up all the vertical and horizontal adjustments are made by turnwheels.
