), a leading provider of integrated loss prevention solutions to retailers worldwide, today announced that it has signed a contract to install radio frequency electronic article surveillance See EAS.  systems (RF EAS) for Casino Group, a leading French hypermarket, supermarket and convenience store chain. The contract calls for the initial installation of Checkpoint's RF EAS in 80 hypermarkets with additional supermarkets added over time.

Checkpoint's source tagging capabilities involve the insertion of paper-thin radio frequency labels into products or packaging at the time of manufacture, thereby creating items that require no further anti-theft tagging by the retailers. When an active product tag passes through a Checkpoint sensor's detection field, it interrupts a radio frequency signal, triggering an alarm that alerts the retailer to a possible shoplifting Ask a Lawyer
