Checkpoint Systems Nets South Africa's Largest EAS Contract.

Checkpoint Systems, Inc., (NYSE: CKP), a leading provider of integrated loss prevention solutions to retailers worldwide, announced that it has been selected by CNA, a 320-store South African chain, for the installation of radio frequency electronic article surveillance systems (RF EAS). The contract, the largest ever awarded to an EAS provider in South Africa, initially calls for the installation of Checkpoint's RF systems in 45 CNA stores. An additional 20 CNA stores already have Checkpoint's systems installed.

Checkpoint products that will be used by CNA include the Coilsafe SAFER for CDs and its unique paper thin, disposable labels for the protection of music videos, computer games and software.

Checkpoint's RF EAS systems use proprietary radio frequency-based (RF) technology. When an active product tag passes through a sensor's detection field, it interrupts a radio frequency signal, triggering an alarm that alerts the retailer to a possible shoplifting attempt.
