), a leading provider of integrated security to retailers worldwide, announced today that it has been selected to install radio frequency electronic article surveillance See EAS.  (RF/EAS) anti-theft systems, including source tagging, by several major European retail store chains.

Checkpoint's contracts with these four companies marks another step in the Company's plans to further accelerate its global expansion plans, and further establishes its radio frequency technology as the standard for retail security worldwide.

, has selected Checkpoint for the chain-wide installation of RF/EAS systems. Varner selected Checkpoint after conducting a series of tests that included RF and competing technologies. Checkpoint's systems will be fully installed in Varner's stores by the end of 2000.

Austria - Palmers Textil AG, an international retailer of high quality lingerie, has chosen to install Checkpoint's new digital radio frequency technology chain-wide. Palmers, based in Vienna, operates 165 stores in Austria and Germany and distributes their merchandise to another 170 franchise stores. Palmers made the decision to implement Checkpoint's RF technology after evaluation against other technologies. The installation of Checkpoint's radio frequency system is slated for completion by June 2000.

England - Wickes, a leading chain of D-I-Y outlets and builders' merchant stores, named Checkpoint Systems as the exclusive provider of loss prevention technology for its 125 stores. Wickes selected Checkpoint's QS55 and QS45 antennas, which will be located at each store's entrance and exit.
