) today announced the appointment of William Smoot Antle III to its Board of Directors. With the addition of Mr. Antle, Checkpoint Systems' Board of Directors now has ten members, and is comprised of seven outside independent directors and three inside directors.

Mr. Antle previously served as the Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Oak Industries, Inc., a manufacturer of leading-edge communications components, from 1989 until its merger with Corning Incorporated in 2000. Prior to his tenure there, he held senior management positions with Bain and Company, Inc., an international strategy-consulting firm. He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy United States Naval Academy, at Annapolis, Md.; for training young men and women to be officers of the U.S. navy or marine corps.
