What: On Wednesday June 21, Whole Food Market conducted their
"Community Giving Day," in benefit of Spacetaker, a cultural
arts organization. On that day Whole Foods donated 5% of their
sales profits, $13,500, from all of the Whole Foods markets in
the Houston area, in benefit of Spacetaker, officially dubbed
"Feeding the Arts" day.
Who: David Brown, Executive Director for Spacetaker will be
presented with an official check from Candyce Speidel,
Community Relations for Whole Foods.
Since 1993, Whole Foods Market Community Giving Days has given
back at least five percent of its profits for one day to a
non-profit Community Partner. This is the first year for
Spacetaker to be recognized as a Community Partner. Spacetaker
is a Houston-based cultural arts organization, committed to
providing resources to artists and access to cultural arts
events in Houston.
