Dave Ross (born April 5 1952 in Yorktown, New York) is a popular liberal talk show host on Seattle's KIRO-AM 710 radio station, with whom he had been a news anchor since 1978, , who was already undergoing treatment for a form of skin cancer. The 49-year-old spotted a dark red mark, which appeared slightly scabbed, on his chest just over a year ago and doctors confirmed it was Bowen's Disease ( a form of cancer which usually stays on the skin's surface. Keen to spot any other danger moles or lesions on his body, shop assistant Dave, from Sunderland, booked an appointment at the clinic. Dave's wife Diane, 42, also encouraged him to get checked after she discovered a suspect mole on her calf. Although doctors found out it was not melanoma, the couple are now extra careful in the sun.
