Check PET Bottle Quality in Real-Time.

An infrared device that allows 100% quality control of PET bottles through non-contact measurement of wall thickness is now available from Agr Top Wave LLC, Butler, Pa. The PETWall system was developed by Non-Contact International in Toledo, Ohio, but will be built and sold by Agr Top Wave. It determines wall thickness at up to four targeted points in PET container walls. It can handle up to 30,000 bottles/hr in a broad range of shapes and translucent colors.

Compact, multi-head design lets up to four sensors be placed where bottles exit the blow molding machine, or two sensors can be placed at each out-feed of a dual-output machine. A high-resolution monitor displays data on wall thicknesses, reject levels, and production statistics.
