get one with a $400 limit and pay the balance off each month to

avoid being in debt when you finish college.

--- Food -- You can save dollars each day by preparing your own

coffee, stocking up on twelve packs of soft drinks and getting

your own small refrigerator to keep sandwich meats, fruits, milk,

etc.

-- Entertainment -- Your student ID is your ticket to hundred of

free or discounted events such as: athletic events, plays,

concerts, lectures, dances, etc. Keep a list of all the good

happy hour deals in terms of free food, drink specials, no cover

charges to see live music and two-for-one coupons for meals. Have

a potluck dinner with friends and take advantage of movie rental

specials or play favorite games.

-- Books & Supplies -- Try to purchase books used and meet other

class mates, who had the class that may let you borrow them.

Visit discount stores such as: Wal-Mart and close out stores to

buy pens, notebooks, etc. Visit your local thrift thrift: see leadwort.  store to find

good deals on pictures, desks and furniture to decorate your dorm

room.

-- Phone Bills -- Avoid the temptation of calling family and friends

back home by having them call you instead or buy pre-paid long

are available for free.
