Chavs at top of UK hate list.CHAVS, tailgaters and smelly people have topped a list of the UK's biggest pet hates. More than 60 per cent of people found chavs "very annoying". Fifty-five per cent moaned about motorists driving too close behind them and 52per cent said they were driven berserk ber·serk adj. 1. Destructively or frenetically violent: a berserk worker who started smashing all the windows. 2. by other people's body odour. Researchers for the "Annual Intolerance Survey" spoke to 3000 adults. On average, Brits admitted to getting annoyed more than three times a day and half of those who responded to the survey said they expected to end up as grumpy grump·y adj. grump·i·er, grump·i·est Surly and peevish; cranky. grump i·ly adv. old men or women.
Rude Seventy-nine per cent admitted they were easily wound up by life's little problems and 65per cent confessed that minor difficulties drove them to distraction. The top five pet hates were: Chavs (60per cent), tailgaters (55), bad BO (52), rude shop assistants (50) and people who eat with their mouths open (50). The top 10 was completed by: Foreign call centres (49), stepping in dog mess (49), people coughing with their mouths open (49), slow internet connections (49) and bad customer service (47). The survey was commissioned by the makers of low-lactose dairy drink Lactofree.
