The group pioneered the current Chav chav Noun Brit slang, derogatory a young working-class person who dresses in casual sports clothes phenomenon epitomised by loud, brash accessories, also referred to as council estate chic. As well as being used in songs and everyday language, the word has been included in Larpers and Shroomers, by Countdown's Susie Dent - a book tracking language trends over the past 100 years. |
