Chautauqua Reports Sixth Consecutive Month of Record Breaking Traffic.


INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 7, 1998--Indianapolis based Chautauqua Airlines Chautauqua Airlines is an airline based in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. It operates scheduled passenger services on more than 670 flights daily to cities in 30 states, Canada and the Bahamas, through feeder services under the names Delta Connection for Delta Air Lines,  Inc., a US Airways Express US Airways Express is an airline brand name, rather than a fully certificated airline, and as such, the US Airways Express name is used by several individually owned airlines or airline holding companies which provide regional airline and commuter service for US Airways.  carrier, carried 62,786 passengers in November, setting a new record for the month.

The total exceeded November 1997 by 14.7 percent. It was the sixth consecutive month in which the carrier established a new high for revenue passengers carried in that month. Chautauqua's President, Ed Wegel stated, "The records we have set over the past six months reflect every employee's efforts to raise Chautauqua's performance to the next level. As well, our completion factor of 99.1 percent and on-time of 92.2 percent is a testament to the teamwork and spirit evident today at Chautauqua Chau`tau´qua

Revenue passenger miles (RPM's) flown for the month, (13,837,561) were up 14.7 percent while available seat miles Available seat miles (ASM) is a measure of an airline flight's passenger carrying capacity. It is equal to the number of seats available multiplied by the number of miles flown. This measures an airlines capacity for transporting passengers.  (ASM's), 27,081,240 increased by 11.5 percent compared to November 1997. RPM's year-to-date have improved by 9.3 percent. ASM's year-to-date were down 1.0 percent.

Chautauqua Airlines, with hubs in Indianapolis and Pittsburgh, was recently purchased by Wexford Management LLC (Logical Link Control) See "LANs" under data link protocol.
