Chattem, Inc. (NASDAQ: CHTT), a leading marketer and manufacturer of branded consumer products, today announced plans to launch additional new products for fiscal 2006.

New Product Launches

BullFrog bullfrog, common name of the largest North American frog, Rana catesbeiana. Native to the E United States, this species has been successfully introduced in the West and in other parts of the world. The body length is 4 to 8 in. , the Company's sun care product line, will introduce Mosquito Coast that will begin shipping in November 2005. BullFrog Mosquito Coast combines the trusted sun protection found in BullFrog Sunblock with a revolutionary family friendly insect repellent in a convenient "2 in 1" fast drying spray that effectively, yet safely, repels mosquitoes for up to 8 hours.

A simple solution to outdoor hassles, BullFrog Mosquito Coast combines SPF 30 UVA/UVB protection with a DEET free, EPA approved formula for up to 8 hours of mosquito repellency with equal efficacy to DEET in regards to West Nile but without the odor or safety concerns. The Company expects first year sales of BullFrog Mosquito Coast for fiscal 2006 to be approximately $3-5 million with significant long-term growth potential in the following years.

Mosquito Coast has received very positive consumer response in initial market research studies as well as strong national support from our major retail customers in the food, drug and mass merchandiser channels of trade. The product launch will be supported with a dedicated advertising and promotional campaign that will include television, radio and magazine advertising during the Memorial Day through July 4th time period to highlight the unique benefits of BullFrog Mosquito Coast.

Beginning in January 2006, Chattem plans to launch Garlique CardioAssist, a dietary supplement with an advanced heart formula to help reduce the risk of heart disease. Garlique CardioAssist's clinically tested formula, intended for consumers who have a moderate risk of developing heart disease, contains a blend of plant sterols sterols (ster´ôlz),
