Judge Bruce Thomas noted Sylvestre's "very special position of trust," and said if Sylvestre were younger he would receive a much longer prison term. But because of his age and various illnesses Thomas agreed to three years, Sylvestre's estimated life expectancy. Charles Sylvestre abused dozens of girls over a period of three decades, between 1954 and 1986, throughout Southern Ontario (Tor. Sun, Oct. 7, 2006). He pleaded guilty to 47 counts of indecent assault. |
