Judge Bruce Thomas Bruce Thomas (born August 14, 1948 in Stockton-on-Tees, England) is best known as bassist for The Attractions; the band formed in 1977 to back Elvis Costello on stage and record.  noted Sylvestre's "very special position of trust," and said if Sylvestre were younger he would receive a much longer prison term. But because of his age and various illnesses Thomas agreed to three years, Sylvestre's estimated life expectancy Life Expectancy
