Amanda Helen Chastain and Charles Porter Gufford exchanged vows in a candlelight ceremony on August 10, 2002, at Knowles Memorial Chapel, Winter Park, Florida. Rev. Joseph Sims officiated at the double-ring ceremony. Nuptial music was presented by Kenion Thompson, chapel organist, and Debbie Abbuhi, soloist.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Russell Chastain of Windermere, Florida, and the granddaughter of Mrs. Linton Brantley Browning and the late Mr. Browning of Pontotoc, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Claude Burrell Chastain of Orlando, Florida.

The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Lafayette Gufford, Jr. and the grandson of Mrs. Joseph Lafayette Gufford and the late Mr. Gufford, all of Windermere, Florida, and Mrs. Joseph Clemens and the late Mr. Clemens of Orlando, Florida.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a Jim Hjelm A-line gown of ivory Italian satin featuring crystallized iridescent beading and pearls adorning an embroidered band on the empire bodice. Covered buttons down the back finished the gown with its chapel-length train. Her two-tiered veil of ivory illusion edged with satin ribbon fell from a tiara of Austrian crystals and pearls. An heirloom accessory was her late paternal grandmother's diamond dinner ring. Tucked inside her bouquet of red Classy roses, stephanotis, and seeded eucalyptus was her maternal grandmother's lace handkerchief fastened with the diamond and pearl brooch her father gave to her mother on the eve of their wedding thirty-five years earlier.

Alison Kaye Chastain, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Cindy McCree Bodine, Kelly Craig, Holly Edwards, Lori Hayes, Nicole DeLoach Hubbard, Anna Pieralisi, and Kimberly Stowers. The attendants wore strapless, claret satin formal gowns accented with crystal beading. They carried bouquets of cream Virginia roses.

The groom's father served as best man. Honorary best man was Clint Hagaman. Groomsmen and ushers were Taylor Bodine, Hank Farish, Holt Harrell, Jeremy Matthews, Andrew Varner, Tyson Vanlandingham, and Michael Wilson.

After the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a buffet reception at Lee's Lakeside, Orlando, Florida. In honor of the bride and groom being Ole Miss graduates, the groom's cake was decorated as "Colonel Reb."

The bride's grandmother and sister hosted the bridesmaids' luncheon at Le Coq Au Vin, and the groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner at the Citrus Club, both in Orlando.

Following a European honeymoon, the couple resides in Orlando, Florida, where the bride works as a certified public accountant and the groom as an attorney.
