Chase Global Power & Environmental Group Arranges Financing For Europe's First De-Inking/Recycling Pulp Processing Plant Producing Letter Quality Pulp.


NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 31, 1996--A consortium headed by Chase Investment Bank's Global Power & Environmental Group financed the first complete waste-to-letter grade pulp de-inking and recycling pulp processing plant serving customers throughout Europe. The US$130 million loan arranged by Chase will be used to construct the recycling plant at Chateau Thierry, approximately 80 miles northeast of Paris.

The project, known as La Compagnie Greenfield S.A., a 151,000 metric ton per year facility, is expected to begin operation by the second quarter of 1997.

Chase is the project and loan structuring adviser for Greenfield and arranged the financing group that includes lead arrangers Chase, Bayerische Landesbank of Germany, Den norske Bank Den norske Bank or DnB was a Norwegian bank that existed between 1990 and 2003 when it merged with Gjensidige NOR to form the present DnB NOR.
