CharterMac names Marc Schnitzer CEO.


CharterMac announced that the Company's Board of Trustees board of trustees Politics The posse of thugs who oversee an institution's administration. See Board of directors.  has named Marc D. Schnitzer the Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

Schnitzer, who has been the President of CharterMac since 2003, is also a managing trustee of the Company.

"Our belief that Marc was the best candidate to lead CharterMac was further verified by the search process conducted by a special committee of our Board of Trustees, which concluded that Marc was the clear choice for Chief Executive Officer of our company."

Schnitzer will replace Ross, who has served as interim Chief Executive Officer since November, 2005. Mr. Ross will continue to serve as the Chairman of CharterMac.

Schnitzer, 45, joined CharterMac's predecessor in 1986. Over the past 20 years, Mr. Schnitzer has built the company's fund management division into the nation's preeminent sponsor of tax credit investment funds Noun 1. investment funds - money that is invested with an expectation of profit

During his tenure, the Company raised more than $7 billion in equity from Fortune 500 companies for investment in tax credit properties.
