Charter of Democracy is merely an agreement , not part of constitution: Taseer.


ISLAMABAD, October 19, 2009 (Frontier Star): Governor Punjab Salman Taseer has said that Charter of Democracy (CoD) was merely an agreement, and not a part of Constitution. In an interview to Private TV Channel, Salman Taseer while replying to a question regarding the differences with Punjab government over the appointment of the judges in Punjab, Salman Taseer said that it has been clearly said in the constitution of Pakistan There have been several documents known as the Constitution of Pakistan (Urdu: آئین پاکستان ). These will be dealt with here in chronological order.  that Executive has no role in the appointment of the judges. As a far as CoD is concern it is simply a accord or an agreement not part of constitution, he added. Salman Taseer has said that population of Punjab Province was more than 80 million and it far big province as compared to European countries.
