Charter Ventures Launches Charter Fellows Program; Engineering Expert To Work Closely with Partners and Portfolio Companies.

Charter Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm focused on communications, software and life sciences, announced today it has launched the Charter Fellows Program with the addition of engineering expert Krishna Viswanadham, age 40, to its team.

Viswanadham has more than 16 years of experience in engineering management and team building, hardware and ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) Pronounced "a-sick." A chip that is custom designed for a specific application rather than a general-purpose chip such as a microprocessor.  design, system architecture and product development at leading technology companies including Apple, CoSine Communications, Ramp Networks (acquired by Nokia) and FlowWise He has developed products in the networking, personal computers, I/O (Input/Output) The transfer of data between the CPU and a peripheral device. About Mr. Viswanadham

Krishna Viswanadham most recently was Senior Director of Hardware development for CoSine Communications, where he managed the development of the company's next generation platforms combining high performance computing and networking. Previously he was a staff scientist at Network Equipment Technology (NET), founder and director of Hardware Engineering at FlowWise Networks, and a member of the founding team of Ramp Networks (acquired by Nokia). He also gained a broad range of experience from positions with Apple Computer and the Xebec xe·bec also ze·bec or ze·beck
