 community, has launched the Napa Valley Green Fund[TM], an initiative to actively involve members of the community in efforts to improve the environment both from an individual and a business standpoint. It starts out with a green checking account where interested individual investors deposit money in an FDIC-insured account and take a few simple green-oriented steps like reducing paper use by receiving e-statements and using online bill pay. They are then rewarded with an attractive interest rate. Charter Oak Bank will then lend green account funds to energy-efficient real estate projects, clean energy efforts, and eco-friendly businesses throughout the Napa Valley.
