ChartOne(TM) Inc., today released "Embrace HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act of 1996, Public Law 104-191) Also known as the "Kennedy-Kassebaum Act," this U.S. law protects employees' health insurance coverage when they change or lose their jobs (Title I) and provides standards for patient health,  with Confidence," an online multimedia training course for professionals in healthcare information management. ChartOne developed the course specifically to train release-of-information professionals in the new HIPAA Privacy Rule regulations.

The online course, which is now available on ChartOne's Web site, www.chartone.com, is based on the company's seminar series, "What you Need to Know about HIPAA." The Web-based version of the course makes the seminar content available to those unable to attend the half-day seminars currently being conducted across the country. Topics include accounting of disclosures, professional responsibilities, rights under HIPAA, common breaches, addressing privacy violations, and more.
