 Division has been awarded a contract worth approximately $1.0 million from Hughes Aerospace Corporation to supply large size (48 inch) cryopumps for use in the production testing of Hughes's Xenon-ion thrusters. CVI, a division of Chart's Process Systems International (PSI) subsidiary, is a leading supplier of cryopumps used in satellite test chambers to create the vacuum necessary to simulate outer space conditions.

Hughes Aerospace is the leading supplier of ion engines to the aerospace industry. The company's Xenon-ion thrusters are placed on satellites to help them maintain their position in orbit; these high-technology ion thrusters are also used to propel scientific probes through space for data collection.
