Charlson Broadcast Technologies Announces Opening of Agencies in South America.

ERLANGER, Ky. -- Kentucky- based CBT, LLC (dba Charlson Broadcast Technologies), in conjunction with its affiliated groups, announced today the scheduled opening of Off Track Betting Parlors and betting agencies in Venezuela, Brazil and Peru. These parlors and agencies will receive signal from many of the premier North American horseracing tracks via CBT's satellite delivery system. All wagers in these foreign locations will be placed through CBT's International Wagering Terminals (IWT) into the North American host tracks pools through the AmTote International hub in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

"CBT has spent two years developing the technology and infrastructure, negotiating contracts and cementing relationships with industry leaders and parties in South America. It is very exciting to finally have it in operation," states Cary Charlson, President and CEO of CBT. "Using the latest in AVC compression, video over IP and our IWT, CBT has made it affordable to open parlors and agencies in these countries at a fraction of the expense incurred in the United States."

All parlors and agencies will provide host track odds and payoffs on all wagers, including exotic bets heretofore not available to South American betting patrons. All moneys bet in these foreign sites will be entered into the US pari-mutuel pools at the individual tracks. A percentage of every dollar bet will be paid to the horsemen in those countries and taxes will be remitted to local governments and related agencies.

These parlors and agencies will provide for new revenue sources for the racetracks and horsemen in the United States, and will benefit the horse industry in these foreign countries," Mr. Charlson stated. "Others have attempted to deliver the signal abroad but seemed to ignore the local racing industry and governments. Racing is a billion dollar industry in Venezuela. There are currently over 750 Off Track Betting Parlors which now display only the local track signals. Many of those locations, affiliated with CBT's Venezuelan partner, Simulco S.A., will soon have the North American signals as well. Through this network, North American horseracing could generate hundreds of millions of dollars in new revenues.

Carnegie-Cooke and Company (CGKY), a Nevada corporation, is CBT's affiliate in Brazil. CGKY has a long-standing agreement with the Jockey Club de Campos to provide simulcast racing throughout the State of Rio de Janeiro. CGKY plans to open locations in Campos, Macre and Niteroi.

Peru Gaming, LLC, a Texas based company, will be CBT's affiliate in Peru. The first installation at the Atlantic City Casino in Lima, Peru is scheduled to open in mid-August. This location will compete with operations in Peru that book bets on American racing, but which do not share profits with horsemen in the United States or Peru.

CBT has long been an innovator in the horseracing industry. It developed the first computer interface system (Grand Central) enabling the display of wagering and horse information on a video screen. The O'Hare graphics package is an industry standard that has spawned many imitations over the years.
