TEENAGE diva Charlotte Church yesterday turned down the chance to be the new face of Marks & Spencer - describing their offer as "cack v. i. 1. To ease the body by stool; to go to stool. ".

Store chiefs thought Charlotte, 18, would be perfect to revive To renew.

An M&S insider said: "She appeals to younger and older women and bosses thought she'd be a hit."

But the singer rejected the proposal, saying: "Marks & Spencer offered me a deal that was cack."

And she told a friend: "It would be all right if it was a decent shop but M&S? It's somewhere your mum shops."
