Charlie is the darling; James grabs hat-trick in Cullercoats win: Football Pools Trust Killingworth Mini League.


FC CULLERCOATS bounced back to form to defeat KYPC KYPC Kittery Point Yacht Club  Jaguars 5-0 in the United Under-10 League.

Charlie James
    Charles Wesley James (December 22, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri) is a former professional baseball player. He was an outfielder over parts of 6 seasons (1960-1965) with the St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds. James was a member of the 1964 World Series champion Cardinals.
     opened the scoring for Cullercoats with a cool finish, Aaron Dixon netting the second from a corner - and that is the way it remained until half-time.

    In the second period it was Cullercoats who went further ahead when Holly Summers bundled in the third. David Shipley David Shipley is an American journalist. He is currently deputy editorial page editor and Op-Ed editor of The New York Times.

    Shipley became deputy editorial page editor in January 2007, concurrent with Andrew Rosenthal being promoted from deputy to editorial page
     made it 4-0 with a fierce drive before James completed his brace late on.

    KYPC Panthers continued their winning ways by defeating Burradon 6-1.

    Burradon hit back early in the second period, Jake Gurthue getting on the scoresheet.

    However, KYPC were soon back into their stride, Ben Walker adding the fourth and further goals from Harry Avis and Callum Corkhill wrapping up the points.

    Seghill enjoyed a convincing 11-0 success over Wallsend Community, Stephen Lucas (7), Liam Scott (3) and Thomas Stoetzal on the scoresheet.

     United 3-0, Burnside United claimed a 3-1 triumph over New Fordley, Ponteland United Magpies overcame WBBC Rovers 2-1 and KYPC Ajax disposed of Forest Hall Blues 5-1. In the Amberley Under-Nine League, KYPC Rockets beat Forest Hall Red Devils 5-1. A slow start by the Rockets meant Forest Hall took full advantage thanks to Stefan Clough's finish.

    The Rockets, though, came back strongly, Sean Smith slotting home and a quick double from Max Ferriday giving them a 3-1 advantage at the break.

    Further strikes from Ben Ramsey and Jo Foalle sealed the victory.

    Seaton Burn Youth defeated WBBC United 6-1 with Connor Terry (3), Joseph Swinney, Nathan Oakley and Lee Armstrong notching for Burn, Oliver Harrison with the reply for United.

    Heaton Hawks recorded a superb 4-1 victory over Whitley Bay Barca.

    Ponteland United Pumas accounted for Burnside United 14-1, Wallsend Community beat Tynemouth United 11-0 and Forest Hall Reds cruised home 15-0 against KYPC Jets.
