This second Charlie Bone book (there will be five) translates well into audio format. Beal's interpretation rounds the story out, helping to create excitement and anticipation. He has an appealing tone that adds to the drama of Charlie, Henry and the other strange, magical beings that live in this world, and his British accent brings the story and its magical characters to life. While all the characters do not have distinguishable voices (cousin Ezekiel and Manfred sound alike), other nuances in Beal's vocals help create perfect atmosphere and zest.
