Charlie's fans go cycling for charity.


LITTLE Charlie Gould's determination has inspired her family and friends to raise money for the charity that offers her specialist care.

The three-year-old has trouble walking because of a condition called Hemiparesis hemiparesis /hemi·pa·re·sis/ (-pah-re´sis) paresis affecting one side of the body.

"We went to Bobath in January so Charlie could have some intense therapy treatment and as a result of that we saw an improvement," said dad Mathew, 34, a chartered surveyor from Pontypool, who owns Property Data Solutions. "She's a proper little monkey, knows her own mind and is bright as a button, always happy."

After Charlie's treatment at Whitchurch, Cardiff, her grandfather Roger and aunty Keri decided to raise money for the Bobath charity, which needs pounds 800,000 every year to provide therapy to children in Wales with cerebral palsy cerebral palsy (sərē`brəl pôl`zē), disability caused by brain damage before or during birth or in the first years, resulting in a loss of voluntary muscular control and coordination. . They cycled 35 miles from Brecon Mountain Railway The Brecon Mountain Railway is a narrow gauge preserved railway that runs through the Brecon Beacons along the full length of the Taf Fechan Reservoir.
