:SL) today announced the appointment of Charles T. Hopkins to the company's board of directors.

Hopkins' appointment increases SL Industries' board of directors to nine members, including eight outside directors.

Hopkins, 57 years old, held various senior management positions with KPMG KPMG Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler (accounting firm)
KPMG Kaiser Permanente Medical Group
KPMG Keiner Prüft Mehr Genau (German)
KPMG Kommen Prüfen Meckern Gehen
 LLP, most recently as managing partner of the Philadelphia Business Unit. During his 33-year career with KPMG, Hopkins also served as SEC Reviewing Partner and Audit Partner.

Owen Farren, president and chief executive officer of SL Industries, said: "We are pleased to welcome Charles to SL's board. Charles brings three decades of finance experience working with all types of organizations, including large multinational corporations.
