165 Charles St., the Richard Meier Richard Meier (born October 12 1934 in Newark, New Jersey) is an influential, contemporary American architect known for his rationalist designs and the use of the colour white.  & Partners Architects LLP-designed glass tower in Manhattan's West Village, has been chosen as one of "The Five Best New Buildings" of 2005 by New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
 Magazine.

The only residential building awarded the honor, 165 Charles St. overlooks the Hudson River Hudson River

This is the second design award received by 165 Charles St. This fall, the building won the American Institute of Architects The American Institute of Architects (AIA) is a professional organization for architects in the United States. Organized in 1857, the Institute conducts various activities and programs to support the profession and enhance its public image, including periodically awarding the AIA  New York Chapter 2005 Housing Design Award for technical and architectural innovation, as well as its subtle and sensitive relationship to its context and natural environment.

165 Charles St. was developed by Izak Senbahar and Simon Elias, of Alexico Group.

"We are enormously pleased and proud that 165 Charles St. has been recognized for Richard Meier's stunning design and concept for modern living," said Senbahar.

The building is divided by a central spine into a pair of apartments per floor with a dazzling duplex penthouse. It is a complete Richard Meier creation. Meier designed the exterior and interiors, including the living spaces, kitchens, bathrooms, lighting and all details. Building amenities include a professional screening room that accommodates 35 with theater seats originally designed by Meier for the Getty Museum, private wine cellar and a sunken, natural light-filled double-height atrium with private fitness center.
