Charles J. Urstadt set to be honored at Institute awards.The Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute will bestow Charles J. Urstadt, the Founding Chairman of The Hugh L. Carey Battery Park City Authority The Hugh L. Carey Battery Park City Authority is a New York State public benefit corporation whose mission is to plan, create, co-ordinate and maintain a balanced community of commercial, residential, retail, and park space within its designated 92-acre site on the lower west side , with its inaugural "Award for Visionary Leadership in Real Estate" at a reception and presentation dinner, to be held on Thursday, October 27 at The University Club, One West 54th Street, in Manhattan. James F. Gill, present Chairman of the Battery Park City Authority, will serve as Master of Ceremonies and also offer his and Governor Pataki's vision for the future of Battery Park in what is expected to be one of the highlights of the evening's program. Mr. Urstadt will be recognized for his extraordinary contribution to the Authority and to the civic life of New York City New York City: see New York, city. Carey and Mario Cuomo Mario Matthew Cuomo (born June 15, 1932) served as the Governor of New York from 1983 to 1995. Douglass, chairman of The Alliance for Downtown New York; James Cavanaugh, President and CEO of the Battery Park City Authority; and Emeritus President and CEO of the Authority Meyer S.
