Charles Industries Redefines DSL's Rate and Reach with Release of AdrenaLine xDSL Conditioner.

ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. -- Charles Industries, Ltd., together with technology partner Phylogy, Inc., today announced the release of a revolutionary new DSL line conditioning product, the AdrenaLine(TM) xDSL Conditioner. AdrenaLine redefines the rate and reach by which data can be deployed over copper telephone lines using ADSL and ADSL2+. Using AdrenaLine, telecommunication service providers are able to provide Triple Play and Broadband services to previously unserved and underserved customers.

The AdrenaLine xDSL Conditioner is a remarkable leap forward in the evolution of DSL. AdrenaLine is a revolutionary line conditioning product that is easily deployed over legacy copper. It enhances DSLAM performance by significantly improving rate and reach through a patent-pending process of noise filtering and signal amplification. AdrenaLine offers service providers a cost-effective, quick-to-market solution for capturing greater market share and generating new revenue by providing bundled voice, data and video services. In doing so, service providers will better defend their customer base from competitive broadband providers, including Cable and Wireless.

From a hardware perspective, AdrenaLine is a hardened OSP enclosure system employing Phylogy's revolutionary TripleStream(TM) technology. AdrenaLine conditioners are designed to install approximately midway between the DSLAM and the subscriber. A 30' sheathed cable stub extends from the AdrenaLine case for splicing into existing copper twisted pair cable. AdrenaLine conditioners can be installed utilizing traditional craft practices in virtually all OSP applications, including: pedestal or pole mount, placement in grade level boxes, aerial strand mount, or direct buried.

Based upon beta field trials and actual deployments at multiple local exchange and independent operating companies, AdrenaLine has produced remarkable improvements in both extending DSL reach and achieving faster download speeds. Real-world deployments have routinely demonstrated AdrenaLine's ability to improve reach by up to 200%, or rate by up to 400%. One service provider was able to provide 1.5Mbps high-speed Internet up to 25,000 feet from a central office using ADSL, whereas before using AdrenaLine the maximum rate at that distance was 256Kbps. For another provider deploying 15Mbps Triple Play services using ADSL2+, reach was extended from 7,000 to 12,000 feet from the central office.

Designed for rapid deployment, AdrenaLine can condition an entire neighborhood's embedded copper plant in a matter of hours. AdrenaLine further reduces labor and material expenses by eliminating the need for fiber optic cable trenching and additional fiber node placements in order to deploy Triple Play services. Deployment of AdrenaLine conditioners requires no changes at the central office, no new equipment at the subscriber and no local power. A field technician can install AdrenaLine conditioners into existing copper cables in the same manner as other telco-approved line conditioners.

The AdrenaLine xDSL Conditioner will be on display at Charles' GLOBALCOMM 2006 exhibit (#47015) and OSP EXPO 2006 exhibit (#77012), to be jointly held June 5-7 in Chicago, Illinois.
