Charles Henderson to practically double number of NewsRx newsletters.

NewsRx currently publishes about 300 articles weekly in 24 health and medicine newsletters. Charles Henderson, founder and CEO of NewsRx, said he plans to add 20 more titles, which will increase the output to about 1,000 articles in 44 newsletters.

He said he added five editors, including a medical doctor, to his staff in December to produce the additional publications. He now employs 25 people.

The print newsletters vary from 30 to 150 pages each, but the articles are also sold through a dozen news services, including Dow Jones Interactive and Reuters.

Henderson said the expansion is being financed with existing revenue, which has increased annually since the company was founded in 1984 with the $2,329/year Cancer Weekly.

NewsRx collects information from the more than 5,000 articles published in medical journals and related trade magazines each week and creates stories tailored to specific newsletters. The company also covers about two dozen medical conferences each year and sells the video footage.

Thanks to the electronic revolution, many of the virtual company's employees work from home offices, and Henderson runs the Atlanta-based company from his home and office in Hawaii.
