Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History Receives $250,000 Gift from PricewaterhouseCoopers.


DETROIT -- The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History is located in the Cultural Center of the U.S. city of Detroit, Michigan. Founded in 1965, it holds the world's largest permanent exhibit on African American culture.  announced today that PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP LLP - Lower Layer Protocol  (PwC) has made a $250,000 commitment to underwrite To insure; to sell an issue of stocks and bonds or to guarantee the purchase of unsold stocks and bonds after a public issue.

The word underwrite has two meanings.
 a portion of the new core exhibit under construction at the Museum and one special event every year for the next five years.

Wright Museum of African American History is an important and unique institution and we think it needs the support of individuals, private companies, foundations and local government," said Mark J. Mendola, Detroit managing partner of PwC. "We are pleased to do our share, and we want to invite - even challenge others who have never given to step up now."

Wright Museum of African American History exists to serve metropolitan Detroit and national communities by providing exceptional exhibitions and programs based on outstanding collections and research that explore the diversity of African American history African American history is the portion of American history that specifically discusses the African American or Black American ethnic group in the United States. Most African Americans are the descendants of African slaves held in the United States from 1619 to 1865.  and culture.

The Museum is located at 315 East Warren Avenue in Detroit's Cultural Center and is open to the public Wednesdays through Saturdays, 9:30 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., and Sundays 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Museum members and children under five are admitted free.
