) today announced that Charles E. Golden has been elected to the company's Board of Directors, effective immediately. This increases the size of the Board from 10 to 11. He is expected to stand for re-election at the April 2007 shareholders meeting, when his current term of office expires.

Golden retired from Eli Lilly and Company Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE: LLY) is a global pharmaceutical company and one of the world's largest corporations. Eli Lilly's global headquarters is located in Indianapolis, Indiana, in the United States.  in 2006, where he served as executive vice president and chief financial officer and as a member of the company's Board of Directors. A native of Fort Wayne, Ind., Golden received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Lafayette College in 1968 and a Master of Business Administration degree from Lehigh University in 1970, both in Pennsylvania.
