History Architects (master builders) have existed since early in recorded history. The earliest recorded architects include Imhotep (c. , Charles Bettisworth and Company Inc., was the recent recipient of a Citation award by the 2006 Architectural Jury of the American Association of School Administrators The American Association of School Administrators (AASA), founded in 1865, is the professional organization for more than 13,000 educational leaders across the United States. (AASA AASA American Association of School Administrators AASA Asian American Student Association AASA Association of Academies of Sciences in Asia AASA Aging and Adult Services Administration AASA Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Army ) for its design of the Valerie A. Larson Family Resource Center, located in Dillingham. The award was presented in February at the AASA National Conference on Education in San Diego, Calif. Construction was completed in 2002 for this 13,051-square-foot Headstart and Family Resource Center, owned by the Bristol Bay Native Association. This is the first national award that Charles Bettisworth and Company has received for this facility's design. However, since 2004, the facility has received three other design excellence awards from the Alaska Chapter American Institute of Architects The American Institute of Architects (AIA) is a professional organization for architects in the United States. Organized in 1857, the Institute conducts various activities and programs to support the profession and enhance its public image, including periodically awarding the AIA and the Alaska and Pacific-Northwest Chapters of the Council of Educational Facility Planners International. In addition, the firm's design of the new Alaska Railroad Terminal in Fairbanks was the recent recipient of the 2005 Merit Award for Excellence in Architecture from the Alaska Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The project was recognized for award by a four-person jury architect team from AIA AIA - Application Integration Architecture Minnesota. |
