Charles A. Carroll, 70.


WORCESTER Charles A. Carroll, 70, of 378 Plantation Street, formerly of Shrewsbury, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2007, in University Commons.

He leaves a son, Charles of Groton; three daughters, all of Worcester, Sharon Carroll, Pamela Dyson and Tina Rodwell; three sisters, Margaret A. Alexander and Gloria M. Power, both of Shrewsbury and Sally A. Butler of Worcester, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A sister, Virginia C. DErrico died in 2002.

He was born in Westborough, son of Sloan and Esther (Pierce) Carroll and attended Shrewsbury High School. He later served in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed in Scotland. Mr. Carroll worked many years for the American Window Cleaning and later worked as an Ironworker. Charles enjoyed playing cards with his sister Sally and loved her dog Mandi. He always looked forward to his weekly visits with his daughter Sharon and grandson Danny.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 11th at 12 noon in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. A calling hour will be held, September 11th from 11 a.m. to 12 noon prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christine Giguere, Activities Director, c/o University Commons, 378 Plantation St., Worcester, MA 01605.
