Charity trek end for Moira brother.

THE brother of murdered Moira Jones has completed a 200mile trek in her memory.

Grant Jones, 38, took 17 days to complete the walk, which saw him visit some of the most remote parts of the country.

And although he admitted the fundraising trail from Fort William to Cape Wrath was tougher than he imagined, thoughts of his sister spurred him on.

He said: "I had a lot of time on my own to reflect and think about Moira.

"She is the reason I did the walk and I know she would be so proud of me for completing it.

"There were some scary moments and it was a lot more difficult than I expected but Moira kept me going and failure was not an option."

Grant decided to make the trek to raise money for The Moira Fund, a charity the family set up after Moira, 40, was brutally murdered near her home in Queen's Park, Glasgow, in May 2008.

The charity aim to help families who have gone through similar ordeals.

Grant said: "The money is still coming in and people can still donate.

"I got a lot of donations from people I met along the trail and they all gave me a lot of encouragement. It's just amazing that the public want to get behind us and raise money for such an important cause."

The charity are also holding a black-tie dinner, taking place in Glasgow in September, which is being organised by Moira's boyfriend Paul Thompson.
