As a regular feature of the annual Autosport International Show each January, the endurance race sees teams of seven drivers pitted against each other with the aim of raising as much as possible for charity.

This year the funds will go to the Richard Burns Foundation, a charity established in memory of the former World Rally Champion who lost his battle with brain cancer in November 2005.

Poignantly, the charity is one which means a great deal to Daniel and his family as his father Neil recovered from a brain tumour nine years ago.

Scammonden-based Daniel will team up for the event with World Rally Championship contender Jari-Matti Latvala (Finland) and WRC WRC World Rally Championship (auto racing)
WRC World Radiocommunication Conference
WRC Water Resource Center
WRC Women's Resource Center
WRC Welding Research Council
WRC Water Research Commission (South Africa)
 star Chris Atkinson (Australia).

It is one of the most exciting line - ups confirmed for the NEC spectacular and Lloyd's team will run under the banner 'Racing4Richard' in deference to Burns.

The squad will also feature SMRC SMRC Student Movement for Real Change
SMRC Scottish Motor Racing Club (UK)
SMRC Swedish Medical Research Council
SMRC Software Management Review Council
SMRC Source, Maintenance, and Recoverability Code
Legends Cars Champion Carol Brown and two, yet-to-be-selected, public drivers who will each donate pounds 300 to charity.

"The Celebrity Kart Challenge is always fantastic fun but the most important part is raising as much as possible for charity," said 16-year-old Daniel.

"The Richard Burns Foundation is very close to my heart as my dad Neil had a brain tumour several years ago. Thankfully, he was one of the lucky ones so it means a lot to me to be racing for such an incredible charity."
