A SCHOOL pop group have launched their first CD in aid of charity.

The Harbour Gems have produced a seven-track album of covers in both English and Welsh
As an adjective "English and Welsh" refers to England and Wales.


English and Welsh is the title of J. R. R. Tolkien's valedictory address to the University of Oxford of 1955, explaining the origin of the word "Welsh".

The album includes hits Hallelujah, Ave Maria, and Eva Cassidy's Fields Of Gold.

The launch date will be August 1, to coincide with the Macmillan Help for Heroes charity walks. The sponsored walks start at Holyhead at 9.30am and Cemaes Bay at 2.30pm, and end in Amlwch, where there will be a special concert. For details contact Cllr Dylan Jones on 01407 830886.
