Charity eyes old glasses.


STEVEN HILL (above left) and Henry Bass are urging people to donate unwanted spectacles to help improve the quality of life of people in developing countries.

The teenagers belong to Rugby Interact - older students from Lawrence Sheriff School Lawrence Sheriff School is a selective boys' grammar school in Rugby in Warwickshire. The school is named after Lawrence Sheriff, the Elizabethan man who founded Rugby School. The school's name is often shortened to 'LSS'.  and Rugby High School For the school in England, see .

The charity helps people in Africa, the Indian sub-continent and Eastern Europe Eastern Europe

A charity spokesman said: "We would be grateful if people could help by donating any unneeded pairs of glasses. These are sorted and sent to Vision Aid teams in developing countries."

The charity cannot accept varifocals, bifocals or separate lenses and frames.

Glasses can be handed in at Lawrence Sheriff School, in Clifton Road, during school hours.
