Charity dinner raises funds for needy students.


Abu Dhabi Abu Dhabi (ä`b thä`bē, zä–, dä–), Arab. Abu Zabi, sheikhdom (1995 pop. 928,360), c. : Al Quds University Friends Committee in Abu Dhabi held its sixth charity dinner last night, to raise funds to help students of Al Quds University to pay their tuition fees.

Lebanese singer Ahmad Kaabour and the Syrian poet Omar Al Fara entertained the audience at Beach Rotana Hotels and Towers.

Al Quds University, the only Arab university in Occupied Jerusalem, provides education and community services to students from neighbouring towns, villages and refugee camps.

It hosts more than 10,000 students, many unable to pay fees because of the increasing unemployment rate and the deteriorating de·te·ri·o·rate
