Charity abseil.

BRAVE fundraisers will get the chance to abseil off a famous Tyneside landmark next month.

The first ever Byker Bridge abseil event will take place on Saturday, October 17, to raise funds for The Stroke Association.

Peter Collins, from The Stroke Association, said: "This is a great opportunity to be the first to abseil off the landmark bridge."

Registration costs pounds 10 and all participants are asked to raise a minimum of pounds 75 in donations.
