Celebrity Golf Invitational & Gala

Officials with the Steve Sanderson Charitable Foundation have announced that a portion of the funds raised during the John O'Hurley Celebrity Golf Invitational and Gala will be used to support those affected by the tragic terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

The Foundation will continue to focus on fighting Alzheimer's Disease Alzheimer's disease (ăls`hī'mərz, ôls–), degenerative disease of nerve cells in the cerebral cortex that leads to atrophy of the brain and senile dementia.  while also sending funds to the "Spirit Of America Spirit of America is the trademarked name used by Craig Breedlove for his land speed record-setting vehicles.

 Relief Fund," which will benefit agencies committed to assisting those with immediate needs due to the American tragedy. The John O'Hurley Celebrity Golf Invitational and Gala will be held on September 24, 2001, at the Westin Stonebriar Resort and Country Club in Frisco, Texas Frisco is a city in Collin County and Denton County, Texas (USA).

It is a northern suburb of Dallas. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 33,714, while according to 2007 estimate, the city's population is approximately 95,000.

John O'Hurley, best known as Seinfeld's "J. Peterman J. Peterman can refer to the following people:

"We will not be deterred by terrorists," stated Mark Woolverton, Director of Development for the Alzheimer's Association of Dallas. "The Alzheimer's Association and Steve Sanderson Charitable Foundation realize we must cure Alzheimer's Disease. However, sometimes a more immediate need arises that affects everyone. This is an opportunity for Americans to meet both the needs of those stricken by this tragedy, while also helping battle the long term problem of Alzheimer's Disease."

The tournament will begin at about 7 AM at the Stonebriar Golf Course. The public can purchase tickets to watch the golf tournament and attend a black tie gala.

The gala, which begins at 6 PM on Monday night, will feature live entertainment, silent and live auctions, as well as dinner and entertainment. Jewelry, trips and autographed sports memorabilia are among the items to be auctioned off. Trips available at the auction include a 16 day cruise to South America, a gourmet celebrity dinner in John O'Hurley's LA home and an Alaskan fishing trip for two including personal jet transport. The musical group "Emerald City," as well as comedians Dick Hardwick and Kenny Bob Davis will provide entertainment. Money raised from the auction will go towards finding a cure for Alzheimer's and easing the pain of those already suffering from the disease.

One of the highest profile items to be auctioned at the gala is a new Series 1 roadster built by Shelby American. The Series 1 provides unparalleled performance that creates the experience of driving a racecar race·car

 on the street. Each car is numbered and Series 1 production will be limited to only 500 vehicles in order to keep its investment value as high as possible.

The public can watch the tournament for $15 and attend the gala for $500 per couple. In addition there are a few players slots remaining. Tickets can be purchased via the group's Internet site (www.golf4alz.org) or by calling (800) 988-0994.
