Charges over girl's death.TWO men have been charged in connection with the death of a 12-year-old West Yorkshire schoolgirl. The charges follow a long police inquiry into the tragic death of the girl, who was hit by a car as she walked to school in Morley. Hannah Hudson, a Morley High School Morley High School is a co-educational comprehensive school serving children ages 11-18 in Morley, England. Morley is situated 5 miles south-west of Leeds, West Yorkshire with a population of about 50,000. The school has approximately 1400 students enrolled. pupil, was hit by a Vauxhall Vectra at Britannia Road, Morley, on June 15. She died later at Leeds General Infirmary. West Yorkshire Police said a 21-year-old Middleton man had been charged with causing death by dangerous driving In English criminal law, the offence of causing death by dangerous driving is currently defined by the Road Traffic Act 1991 but, following Adomako (1995) 1 AC 171, the offence of motor manslaughter may now be the preferred charge. . A 25-year-old Pudsey man has been charged with dangerous driving. Both men have been bailed to appear at Leeds Magistrates' Court on October 22. |
