Great that you have decided to buy a dog as your pet. Now let us get to know what are the kind of breeds available and what is the kind of personalities and characteristics they posses. This will help you make a wise decision to choose the breed of dog which is suitable for your home and lifestyle.

Brussels Griffon

These little dogs are adorable and they can be found in two varieties, rough and smooth. These varieties of dogs generally weigh between eight to twelve pounds. Some of the times, it is little difficult to get them accustomed to the new home. They are little stubborn. The smooth Brussels need a brushing on their coat once in a week, and their rough counterpart needs twice a week brushing. Generally they are friendly, Jolly and playful. Sometimes they are unfriendly with the strangers and they get along well with the older children. They live for twelve years on average.

French Bulldogs

This breed of dogs is ideal for the people who stay in small homes and apartments. They can play and dance around in your house. This dog loves, has a good nature, and love their family. They are not comfortable in the warm weather; please take care that when it is warm outside they are indoors. On average the French bulldog lives for a period of twelve years.

Australian Terriers

The breed of Australian terriers is very energetic and they exercise a lot. They are best suited for a home with a nice backyard with a fence. They are brave and bold, so they can be used as watchdogs. They need less brushing, as they shed less. They love being in the family.

Miniature Schnauzer

These dogs are real small, Twelve to fourteen inches high. They come in different and vibrant colors like solid black, silver, salt and pepper. They are ideally suited for an apartment and a country house. They are very happy as long as they are with the family and friends. This breed of dogs is intelligent, friendly, and they love to play with kids and friends. Miniature schnauzer needs brushing and trimming every month.

Italian Greyhound

In case you are buying this breed of dog. The Italian greyhound needs a little room and space to feel little comfortable in your home. This dog comes in very vibrant colors. They have a very short hair and like a sweater when they go out in a cool weather. They are not aggressive, but let their owner know that there is some stranger in the house. They live for a longer period of time, of fourteen years.

Toy Poodle

This breed of dog is ideal for small homes, but it is happy when the owners are around.

They need grooming weekly once. Poodles play with their own toys and they enjoy it. Poodles are intelligent and they can be trained easily. They do not like to be alone in the house or wherever they go. They like the company of their owners and children.
